Looming In Nature is a collaboration between photographer Hannah Lipowsky and artist Iris Woutera. Both share a sense for tactile materials, minimalism and colour in their work. The sculpture is made of textile and a lightweight construction of carbon, which moves along with the wind.
The loom is moving in a cadence, measured by the beat of weaving repeated patterns. Inspired by circular shapes in nature such as the consecutive seasons and the rhythm of day and night.
The work represents a balance between stillness and the ever-accelerating speed in which we are moving forward.
